Hooded Merganser

There were cool ducks in the canal today.  Light sucked, but they were sweet.

I needed to take a ride.   So I went to most of my usual spots.  Today the ride was really about getting out of the house and making myself do something that took me out of my own head.  I need to take ukulele lessons.  I need to do some music; a daily pursuit that takes me away from me and makes me smile.  Not that taking a ride and taking pictures doesn't do that, but there are times when music is the best medicine. 

It was 39 degrees and cloudy at 315 today at the rookery..  There was snow in the heron nests.

water was flowing but the surface of the pond was snow covered.  It was hard to tell if anything was frozen underneath.  I kind of doubt it.  And there were no birds or any other wildlife present.

A couple of friends read my blog from the beginning yesterday and made comments which made me realize there were a couple of threads in my postings.  I'll pick up on some patterns tomorrow, but I left my glasses somewhere so typing is hard tonight.  Actually this reflects my inability to focus at all today.  Glad I could at least take a ride.  Oh and good friends sent dinner to me, so I had some real nutation, too.
