Day 10
January 10, 2021

It was a beautiful day for a drive today and a beautiful day to photograph our world.

I'm still looking for a new focus for a daily shot and daily record keeping.  Nothing has caught my eye yet.  I know there must be a couple of places I could photograph every day like I did the rookery. I wish I knew where some owls were hanging out this winter.

Green River Rd. is a possibility and ice formations.  The green of the river is different everyday.  Today it was the color of topaz.  And there were ice crystals over everything.  The water was flowing but the ice was growing.   Without foliage on the trees you can see long stretches of the river and watch it twist and turn down into the valley.

We looked for animals, a deer, even a turkey but we saw nothing, just water and ice.

and the formations they make.
What's interesting is the colors the rocks take on in winter light, too.  There are all of these blue greys and blue greens along the river's edge.  Ice is forming and water is swirling and brown pops out.  I find it hypnotic.

I believe there is an eagle nest near this corner.  Maybe I should go at feeding time each day.  Do eagles have to get off the smaller rivers to find food at this time of year?  I think they lay their eggs in February.  I'll do some research and maybe try to find one to photograph.
