Day 41
February 10, 2021
Studying Footprints, no pawprints

Not yet sunset, I think I was at rookery about 3:15, this maybe closer to 4.  The bluebird house is glowing.  I've been trying to continue to go through my prints and I've been collecting in piles shots of the same places.  I have 10 years of this slope.  I love it.

Ohhhh, I got a ride in today, but not until after a social masked and airy lunch with friends who I missed greatly.   We ate food from Mesa Verde, which is important to the soul.  Eating a fresh salad and their salsa makes me so happy.  Oh, I am so easily amused.

I also got a tutorial in Blogger which I'm hoping you'll see the results of tonight.

And then I ran a few errands and got some stuff off my back that I have been procrastinating forever.  That allowed me to take a late afternoon ride on the nap circuit, or what used to be one of the nap circuits.  When EJ was a toddler and until they were four going on five at least three times a week we did nap runs.  We would sing about six songs and drive one of three loops after lunch and they would be asleep before too long.  I would get the benefit of the rest of the beauty in quiet.  I loved those times.  My years of taking care of them are precious to me and always will be.

They were a really fun child.  They ate information.  They made up songs from the beginning and drew amazing things at 3.  They made me laugh and feel wanted and needed.  Now that they are a grown up, they still amaze me, I just don't get the time that I used to, but I still have all the memories and enough photographs to drown in.  They must be the best documented 20 year old in New England.

While sitting at the rookery catching up on e mails the red tailed landed nearby.  He came to say hello, goodbye.   This is about an hour before sunset and because of where the rookery sits surrounded by hills it looses the sun first.

It was cold up there today and the only animal out in the barnyard was one of the cows.  Everyone else was tucked into the barn already.

The red tailed swooped down over the rookery and then landed directly above the barnyard.  I didn't see any mice, and I thought about telling him to come to my house and find some, but...

I got back down into the valley just as the sun was setting.  Not a very interesting set, but sometimes I favor the subtle porcelain colors .

I'm going to try to change the background color tonight to see if it makes the photos pop more.  We'll see, let me know what you think.  And tomorrow I am going to link my Etsy shop so that those of you who wish to order a photo, can.   Stay tuned for further instructions.
