Day 48

February 17, 2021

Clear peaceful day

Good Morning World.   I was out early today in order to pack up my care package and get it out to EJ at Bard.  I had so much fun doing it.  I love how this kind of event gives me so much pleasure.  I realized today that I've always been a pleasure hound.  Thank goodness what gives me so much pleasure is doing stuff for other people or I'd be in rougher shape than I am.

I then took my first ride of the day.  It was an early ride, The sun was not directly above and, yet, it was bright and making many shadows.  The swan were still trying to stay warm.

I went to the canal first, but they're working on the road so they made me leave

So off to the Cove.  There were a lot of people out on the ice today.

One can't go looking for big birds on a very clear day and not search Railroad Salvage  It is situated in such a way and at the edge of the river that the big birds congregate there.  But not today.

I think I have about 30 people reading my blog now. I'm sure many of them are family and close friends, but I hope some are people enjoying watching my photos.   It's not going to be very long before the heron return, meanwhile, I'm hoping I get a lot of hawk pictures during their active time.  I didn't see one today, nor did I see a woodpecker, but I did see a vulture, which I think is rare this time of year.

I've grown to like this sunset view.  It's one of the few flat spaces in the county so you get different reflections and cloud formations. I'll be glad when Poets Seat is reopened, but for the time being, this will do.

My second ride was a sunset ride, the first in many days.  I wanted to get up and see the sunrise this morning, but as usual, I didn't make it up.  The sunset was surprisingly sweet.  I miss watching it with friends.  I actually looked for my friend, Terry, tonight, but he was not smoking a cigar in his truck watching the colors change right in front of our very eyes.
