Day 65
March 6, 2021
A day for the ducks

The gates to the canal were open today and the sun was shining and the birds were playing.  I'm not sure how many types of ducks I saw.  What duck has a purple head?  Or is the purple head a mallard with some response caused by a light source?

And the swans are very present.  The ballet gets larger and larger as Spring nears.

There were Common Merganser and Hooded Merganser, and maybe a Ringed Neck.

Everybody was lively and coming up to the surface with food in their bills.  The geese were flying around, they'd all of sudden take to the sky and do a big circle and return to the clump of birds in the middle.  There were not a lot of gulls today, many more Mallards and geese.

I think I'm in love with these guys, they make me smile so much.  This bird watching stuff really makes me live in the moment, which given the times, is a really good thing.  I need to go back to being with friends as the norm.  Even if I could go to the Bookmill to write for an afternoon I would be a happy person.

These swans were climbing up onto the ice and then going back down in the water, they were performing their very own swan lake.

A big variety of wonderful water fowl.

Then I went over to Lava Center to have lunch with Venessa and Des.   I got some action shots.  Walls look so empty, but it's a great place to do cartwheels.   I miss the place.  I believe we'll get some stuff happening there by mid April.  I've ordered all of my frames and am almost finished printing the show.  I'm very excited about it.
