Day 66
March 7, 2021
I need another blog lesson
This is an old picture, maybe 1979. We must be waiting for someone to finish their orals. We're sitting on the side of Dalrymple on Marlboro College campus. The reason I am posting it is I have a cigarette in my hand and there is a TAB can behind the bag. Yes, that is me with the hat on. This is a sweet blast from the past. One of my favorite pictures.
Maple sugaring has begun. A large truck full of spikes and pails slowly made its way up Taylor Road tapping into all of the maples up the right hand side of the road. They had gone about 3 miles when I caught up to the truck. I photographed some of the buckets, but I felt too odd about asking if I could photograph them. But those trees are old and wise. You can see it in their bark and they stand guard along that road like ancient warriors giving us sweet things every spring.

David gave me a little jar of last years on Thursday. I love the stuff.
Fresh hay had been delivered at the farm. The sun was directly above. The shadows were marvelous, but it was 37 and too cold with a wind, I stayed in the car and did not look for more animals. All along the ride there were horses hiding behind barns and hawks protecting themselves from the wind. I just enjoyed what I saw and did not try to take too many photos.

This tree, hidden in a small niche, again seems ancient to me, an old enchantress who stays in the back these days not needing to waste any energy.
I ran into several old friends today on my ride. Eating lunch in the cemetery, an old friend walked by my car, turned and both of us were startled and so happy to see each other. Its been at least a year. We talked about 15 minutes and then went on. I bumped into 2 more people during my ride. A little human contact without a lot of to do. It's good for me.
I feel confused about only putting my pictures up on this blog. I feel like I've lost my audience, those that I did this for in the first place, but I think it feels like one too many steps for people and they're not looking. They might feel like its too much reading, when I don't feel like people have to read, they can just look at the pictures, although I am trying to make it relevant, too. Let me know that you are at least looking at the pictures. I miss everyone's comments.

I get your dilemma. It does feel like too much to people to click over sometimes I think. It seems like a little thing but I think I does loose people. I know that I make an effort to do so, but don't always get over here. It's nice to have it all together like this too though.
