Day 67
March 8, 2021
Almost Normal Today

Sweet, beginning to thaw, covered in multiples of birds.  So beautiful!  I think the swan are beginning their mating dances.  There were at least twenty of them all broken up into pairs following each other around and doing these synchronized moves.  Amie and I were laughing and smiling and happy.

The chunks of ice were broken up and some were floating rapidly down the canal.

So interesting to look at their feathers.  They were doing all these specials moves with those giant white feathery wings and just spiraling around.  It was gorgeous.

We didn't see as many different types of ducks as I did the other day, but they were making a lot of noise. And I think along with Canada Geese there were Brant Geese, too.  Has anyone else noticed a smaller brown goose with a narrower white stripe around their necks?

After my nap and a little photo work I went off to shoot the sunset which was not very dramatic because the entire western sky filled with one large looming cloud covering up all the color.  It was very anticlimactic except I was looking at the sky taking pictures and alive which felt very grand to me tonight.
