Day 75
March 16, 2021
Best day of the month to be born on

Looks like they're taking the building down completely.
Those who want to take final photographs probably should look for a chance this week.  Whenever I'm over there shooting it, I always think I'm isolated and nothing really is around.  It was clear today that that is a completely incorrect assumption.  There are a lot of other buildings very close by.

I took two rides today.  Birds dominated.  The rookery was 37 degrees at 4 this afternoon and there were several red winged blackbirds chatting away.

Today's list: Canada Geese, mallards, hooded mergansers, some gulls, swans, crows, red tailed hawk, red winged blackbird, cardinals, pigeon and nuthatches.

I sat up at the rookery for 15 or so minutes taking in the slate before the color will begin to emerge.  Where are the otter, the muskrats and the beaver? It looks like the snow is disappearing in there and I wonder if the smaller animals are beginning to come out more.

Nest #1 is gone, must have gone in a wind storm,  Will the herons return and build new nests in their place?  I have a feeling we will have more heron this year.

And we are definitely going to have new baby goats .

This guy nabbed this mole and swept up in front of my windshield.  He landed in the closest tree that allowed me to take his picture for awhile. Things are waking up.  The Spring is going to get exciting.
