Day 83
March 24, 2021
It was a perfect bird day
Arrived at 1:50 and it was 58 degrees, cloudy, and a little breezy. There were Canada geese making their racket. They are such noisy birds. There were a few at the bottom of the field seeking out nesting sites. The male heron went over to check them out. It almost looked like a stand off, but the goose went up the hill and the heron went into the water.
All of the goats were out today. It felt like rain, but it never did. There were a lot of red winged black birds claiming territory, too, a single male bird sitting in all of the bushes throughout the wetland. The chickadees were rushing around and wherever I went today I heard cardinals and saw robins.

so today's list is fun: robins, house sparrow, song sparrow, red winged blackbird, red tailed hawk, chickadee, hairy woodpecker, nuthatch, starlings, Harrier, red-shouldered hawk, mourning dove, blue jays. Never saw the cardinals but heard them all over the place.
and when I got home I saw a hawk way up high, I heard the finch next door, and I knew they got a lot of work done today, a lot of finding mates, a lot of checking out nesting material. I was impressed by Mother Nature today.
Got my first shot today and made my first tentative date to see someone out of state. How freeing can it be?
