Day 107
April 17, 2021
I was visited by a flower fairy today.

I also went to work today, well kind of, I went to work and had lunch with co-workers and we made sure our calendars were in sync for May.  I'm the coordinator or Exploring and Creating Histories, an oral history project funded by the Massachusetts Humanities. I think this is a new start of a new chapter
On May 1st my heron show will open and on May 8th I am leading a paper quilt activity for the community.  We will have prompts and art supplies and will give people places to make their own paper quilt square and we will hang them all together.

Went on a short ride at 11 30 this morning to the rookery.  There were so many birds there it was amazing.  There were robins, starlings, red winged, swallows, a lot of swallows, Common Merganser, Wood duck, Eagle, red tailed hawk and the herons.
I did not see the Canada geese and I'm afraid of the nests that were in the flood plains, but the wood ducks came out of the reeds and swam around in front of me.  Although they nest in trees, not in the ground.

Everything was very bland in color.  It was 47 degrees, not quite as damp as it was the last 2 days and less windy.  Still it was grey grey.

Poet's Seat is open and it too was grey.  There was some snow in the north left over from yesterday's storm, but mainly everything was either grey or electric spring green.  It was nice to be there, though.

Because the leaves have not filled in the views yet I could see the canal from Poet's Seat.  It's an interesting aerial view of what I'm usually wrapped in.  Can't see birds though.  LOL.

I got home to color.  The flower fairy had been here and planted my window boxes and left me a vase of beautiful color.  Yes, the color was at home waiting for me today.   A little bit of heaven for my birthday present.
