Day 112
April 22, 2021
Today may have been a birder's paradise

I don't remember if I've spoken about vince tripi in this blog, but the first 3 or 4 bluebirds I saw in Massachusetts I was with vince.  We both felt it was a sign.  We lost vince last fall after an unexpected stroke.  Today I saw a dozen or more bluebirds and a prairie warbler.  I decided vince was on my ride with me.  There was gentle but powerful magic near.

The rookery was 41 degrees at 4:30 this afternoon and the sun and clouds and wind created fantastic shadows.
I love it when I get these shots with all these different birds interacting with each other.

An otter came near me today, but I was on the phone so I missed the photo opportunity.  I channeled EJ and thought how lucky I was just to observe, be witness to it.

There was a large hawk hanging around, too.  I didn't decide whether it was a female red tailed or something else.  At first I thought it was the osprey, but the head was wrong.  She was beautiful.

This continues to be one of my favorite trees on my ride.  I think the people who live there wash it.  It is so white.

My bird list: bluebirds, swallows, heron, common merganser, Canada geese, vulture, red tailed, another hawk, raven, crow, red winged bb., Prairie warbler, robins, Northern flicker, black birds, common dove, mourning dove, pigeons and house sparrow.

And home.  It was too cold at 41 degrees to go out and sit in the backyard before making dinner, but I did feel the gratitude for having a backyard to go sit in.
