Day 116
April 26, 2021
Back to Work I go.
I wanted this in reverse order, but I'm too tired to do it over again, so you'll see the exploration of the rising pink moon backwards. Pretty stunning tonight.
Went out for a salad with a friend and felt like an adult. I had gone to work in the morning and was social in an adult way in the evening. And then to top it off I got to shoot the full moon. How lucky am I?
It really was pink over the Connecticut. I watched it rise there until the sun was just dipping under the hills and I drove over to Greenfield and watched it rise above the graveyard.
After my meeting today I did go up to the rookery. It was about 59 up there at 3 and the water was so blue and it was almost choppy.
This one male has his stripe right over his eye and he is large. I think I am getting to the point where I recognize him. He was over at the water's edge the whole time I was there and I watched the common merganser pair go say hi to him and one of the Canada geese said hi. I couldn't get a picture of the 4 of them. I think they are the beginning of a children's book.
Most of the herons were hunkered down; they are doing some serious egg sitting.
I may try to watch the sunrise up there one morning this week.
