Day 124
May 4, 2021
Happy Birthday Shane.

poem by, Camille T. Dungy

I took and processed over 300 photos today.  It was a great afternoon for taking photos.  I had a whole new experience at the rookery.  I met one of the neighbors who is willing to help me get beneath the nests.  Very exciting.

The bird list is very long today.  Mallards, pigeons, blue jay, house sparrow, starling, robin, Baltimore oriole, red winged black bird, house finch, downy, gold finch, vireo, grackle, osprey, wood ducks, Canada geese, and  catbird.

Anyone want to tell me what kind this is?
Landed right in front of me, hung out for a bit, I couldn't identify the song.

Saw the muskrat home, too and could see the streams that lead into the wetland and provide them with their camouflage.

Here's aa totally different angle and perspective.  I can now drive up behind the houses and see the three beaver dams that are causing the water to rise. I met four cool dogs and their owner and learned more about the formation of the rookery.

I need to thank the woman who owns these feeders.  She provides me with lots of sweet sights.
