Day 126
May 6, 2021
A normal day

The bird list is long today: herons, barn swallow, tree swallow, phoebe, red winged bb, black bird, cardinal, house sparrow, robin, catbird, song sparrow, house finch, titmouse, downy, Canada goose, wood duck, belted kingfisher, bluebird, raven, crow, chickadee, warblers, red tailed hawk, and vulture.

Amie and I went to Michaels, Marshalls and Barnes and Noble.  It kind of felt like a normal day.  We took back roads and saw beautiful blooming trees.  The dog wood is stunning and the apple trees are over filled with white.

When we returned I went back up to the rookery for the second time today.  This morning everything was sparkling, this evening it was calmer.  The kingfisher was flitting away and the wood duck flew over me.  I did not see the Common mergansers again.  I miss them.

I have to learn my warblers.  And I want to be able to identify all of the trees.  I don't have much faith in my memory any more.  I used to be able to remember anything I saw.  That's not true any more.

Working feels extremely different to me at this point.
