Day 135
May 15, 2021
Lava Center day

walked outside to go to work and was greeted by a Baltimore oriole and a cardinal.

I went up to the rookery around 5, it was 76 and still.  But the herons were very busy.  I believe nests 4 and 5 have hatchlings in them.  The adults all around were stretching their wings but those in 4 and 5 were looking as though they were feeding babies.

There is a wood duck in this photo, and I took one of the kingfisher, too about the same size.  But there was not a lot of activity near me at all, not even muskrat fever.
Didn't stay long, Diane and I sat in the yard surrounded by bird calls, but I only saw house sparrows, catbird and some other sparrow.  I know there was a woodpecker nearby and whatever is being identified as the loon was there the whole time we were.  What does the purple grosbeak sound like?

I saw a bat and gold finch and a purple finch and are baby cardinals ambery?

Some one ask me a question.  I realize the show is not engaging people as much as I want it to.  I have to figure out some way to engage people in both shows.
