Day 137
May 17, 2021
Happy Birthday, Gerard!!!!

Alright everyone name that bird.

Amie and I rode to New Hampshire today for naught.   Nevertheless, we saw this cool bird and gorgeous lilacs.

I didn't get up to the rookery until about 5 and it was 76 degrees and very active with babies poking up out of nests.  The excitement has begun.  The adults seemed to be doing a lot of flying.  They didn't have to sit on that nest as much.

I didn't see the green heron, but there was a hawk hanging around and the Canada geese and the wood ducks were there.  I tried to capture the kingfisher, but didn't succeed today.  Lots of red winged blackbirds and more swallows at the barn than at the water.

Before I left this morning I was sitting in my car in the driveway recording bird sounds.  It kept telling me there was a red tailed hawk near me and I didn't believe it.  When I went to leave I realized that there were 2 sitting behind me in their old hang out.

I did a lot of driving today, not as much picture taking and some visiting, which was very nice.  I'm beginning to feel a little more normal, but I am hooked on birds.
