Day 143
May 23, 2021
I took an actual ride today.  First one in a long time.

\
I downloaded the photos backwards in hopes that they'd come up in the right order.  They didn't.  Figures.  Decided I'm going through my own technological breakdown, whether Mercury is in retrograde or not.

The weather was crazy today, wind gusts, 92 at noon, 68 at sunset, no real rain, couldn't find a rainbow, but it was dramatic and beautiful.

Every place needed mowing, blooms were brilliant, robins were everywhere and I was being stalked by a Baltimore Oriole pair.  Really.
Blustery storm clouds, gorgeous sunshine, back and forth all afternoon.  My mind was mimicking the weather.  Stormy, and almost depressed, calm and content, back and forth all afternoon.

My ride was nice and it kept a cool breeze on me.  I didn't have the patience to handle the heat.

My bird list is big today.  I'm getting better at recognizing songs.  I was surrounded by purple finch, Baltimore Orioles, swifts and Tufted titmouse tonight sitting on the back step.

At the rookery Baltimore oriole, wood ducks, herons, barn swallow. vulture, starling, and robins.

I saw cardinal, blue jay, mourning doves, thrasher, and sparrows, too.

Tomorrow I will work and with any luck feel more peaceful.  My poetry reading is Wednesday evening so I need to do a little work on it.  Here's to a good week for us all.
