Day 151
May 31, 2021
Today was the day of the gosling.
What a wonderful day for birding. My bird list is very long today, after three days of rain the birds needed to come out and play. There were also enough insects by the waterways to make me believe in the end of the world.
But the goslings were the most abundant of all.
In the canal the swans were very docile and close to the edges. There some Canada geese and goslings and a few mallards, but not a lot of birds. I think it is fuller in the spring and fall, its a stop during migration, but not a big home, its too open probably.
I was at the cove for a bit and by the big river, and over to the Green River. I made a stop in Edite's garden where the peonies are out and the roses are just about to burst.
I road up to the rookery and it was 55 and cloudy and the swallows were back in full force. The kingfisher was really active and flying all over the place. There were adolescent mergansers and wood ducks flew over me.

After I left the Green River I checked in the college came around a corner and ran into this hot air balloon, It's graduation time at Four Rivers.
I love the photo with all the babies!!! Soooo fabulous!
