Day 154
June 3, 2021
8 Swans a swimming in the canal

I'm going to take repeats of all the historical building postcards we have hanging in Lava.  This is the Pushkin which stands right next to our building.

Spent over an hour at the rookery today.  It was  72 there and cloudy.  There were air corpes exercises going on over my head and behind the thick clouds, echoing off the hillsides.  What must the herons think of that noise?  They themselves were very noisy.  Nests 3 and 5 are beginning to be crowded.

I've been unsure of what is going on in nest 4 for several weeks.  Today an adult flew in and out but he flew in and out of nest 5, too.  I think there are babies in there, though.

And over at the Connecticut there was very little action and the water was low.  I am not sure I've ever seen it that low in the cove.  There were 8 swans in the canal and several in the cove.  I saw no babies and none of the baby geese I saw the other night.

They are all preparing for this big storm and then a heat wave.
