Day 162
June 11, 2021
Happy Birthday, Mom;
Welcome to Edite's garden again. Welcome to W. Mass. summer. There's no better place to reflect on that than this garden. The fruit trees have fruit on them, the roses are blooming, peonies are on the other side.
Today the rookery was not sunny and hot, it was cloudy and cool, but it was green.
I think the total count of babies is 16. One nest is abandoned. I counted 16 today and they were making a racket. Hard to hear myself think.
We seemed framed in mountain laurel. I believe my childhood home had lots of mountain laurel. The smell is not only familiar but brings back this feeling of home. All of the pastures are surrounded by it. It's kind of iconic.
