Day 169
June 18, 2021
This was a day of surprises.

Definitely a day of surprises starting with an entirely new view of Greenfield with entirely the wrong lens on the camera.  It was a stunning day and the views were incredible from the roof.  The building has an old vault in it and a world that hasn't been used in over 4 years.  It was really fun to look through.

There is an old Maniatty mural in the basement.  I think it must be the same era as the one that was in the old Shawmut lobby.  It's about 15 by 8 feet.  Really fun.

The reeds and the rye grass dominate the rookery edges.  I was up there at feeding time tonight and it was 77 and beginning to get humid.

The adult birds were flying in from all sides and bringing food in and causing a raucous.  They were all so loud.
They are actually congregating together and catching up on day's activities like us humans were in the middle of the road.

I drove on up and around and saw very little, none of the horses were near, no bird of prey or turkey, and no deer, but I caught these dark black moving spots out in a field and pulled over.  I tried on different lenses.  At least two bears were foraging.  There may have been a third one that was smaller.  But it wasn't until I got the 500 on that I could be sure they were bears.  I sat for 15 minutes and watched.

Then I met Edite for fish and chips.  End of a busy day, and a beautiful day at that.
