Day 173
June 22, 2021
Kind of a turkey day
Today was a long rainy day filled with fun and different moments. I took Patrick up to the rookery this morning. It was 61 and rainy.
We started driving up Taylor Rd and I saw a great horned owl in the woods just off the road. I couldn't get a good picture, but we got to sit there and watch him for a bit. He was really cool.
This afternoon I went to Old Deerfield with colleagues to see an exhibit at the museum on John Putnam, a black man from Greenfield who ran a barber shop in the early and mid 1800s. He played the fiddle in a "4 piece orchestra." The museum will be a good resource for the grant.
It was beautiful today inclusive of the rain. There were patches of mist through out the county. Had a good time driving it. Besides the birds there were many flowers blooming and colors were extraordinarily vibrant.
When I stopped to take her picture my radio was blaring Fats Waller singing Ain't Misbehaving. Didn't scare her off.
A late return to the rookery which was very active in the mist.
