Day 180
June 29, 2021
Soupy in black and white
Once again I am backwards. I also went to shoot the storm and forgot to turn it off black and white. So we have on coming rain in black and white It's kind of cool.
I was shooting in b and w on purpose earlier. This building needs some pictures. It's really an interesting old factory.
The temperature went from 98 to 93 fairly quickly and then the rain stopped and in an hour and a half we've gone down to 82. But it is soup. And at this point I think it is too cloudy for a sunset. I hope someone caught the rainbow.
I was at the rookery before 9:30, It was hot and beginning to get muggy. Nests 3 and 5 have both fledged. They haven't completely left, but those left are hanging around on branches. I think this is an adult and a baby and other babies are gone.
Surprised me, although when I went back to my journal I saw that it was nest 3 that was the one acquired by that first returning heron. So that makes sense.
These are nests 6 and 8. They're pretty lively. It's going to be interesting to see how quickly they all go away. Last year the process took 5 or 6 weeks for all 7 nests to fledge.

One more day of this heat wave and then a few days of rain. I hate soup in the summer, well accept berry, cucumber or Clam Chowder.
