Day 204
July 23, 2021
Mosquito Heaven

I spent 10 minutes shooting this guy soaring over me in wonderful arcs.  He must have been looking for chickens.  There were 2 blue jays hiding in the big tree and several other birds squawking at me.  I haven't seen the orioles in a while.
The sun was shining on the grape vine that is way up in the swing tree. I know other birds were hiding.  The  hawk was too menacing up there.

I didn't get to go to the rookery today, but my friend picked me up at 7 and we got a little food and went up to Poet Seat and watched the sunset.  There were two sundogs and a rainbow on our way up, but I couldn't catch them with the 300 lens.  There is a trick I am unaware of.  I'll have to ask one of my photographer buddies to tell me what to change when I use that lens in order to get color.

The full moon was so gorgeous.  It was a bright pink and then orange.  We ran away from the mosquitos and went over to the graveyard and watched the moon come up.  Stunning.  Photos don't do it justice because the color is all wrong.

I'm covered in bites and I am exhausted but I'm so glad Gregg came and got me.  It was so worth it.

I may not get to post tomorrow evening, but if I don't I'll post 2 times Sunday.  Should be a very sweet weekend.
