9 days of rain

I have been sick all day.  Around  4 I went for a ride to try to clear my head.  It didn't work, but I got some nice photos. The goats were out.  They are getting big fast and their little tails don't stop wagging.  They were all up the side of the hill today.  

There were plenty of birds out at the rookery and a Northern Flicker was nearby talking a lot.  I wonder what happened to the Orioles.  I haven't heard them in a while.

It was rainy and 74 and there were herons all over the place.  6 nests were active.  Who knows if they were in their own nests or not.

I went down to Highland pond because someone posted pics of a heron there yesterday.  I did not see one and I realized I saw no ducks in the rookery nor the pond today.  It was a perfect duck day, too.

Over at the canal there was one heron and this little family of mallards.  There was a broad hawk above me somewhere.   But no others, no swans, no geese in the canal.  I wonder if egrets will return this year.  

There were lilies blooming.  I do love these guys.

And the lone heron standing out on the bars moved very slowly and could have cared less about me.
