Day 208
July 27, 2021
Thank you, Patrick, for taking me for a ride.
My heart is slightly broken. All of the herons have fledged. There are no birds in the rookery. Today there weren't even any ducks. When we first got there about six vultures were soaring up high and a lot of small birds were in the road.
The other thing is the cat tails are strong and tall and most of the grasses are gone so you could see through to the water.
We counted 8 monarchs along our ride which was a hopeful sign amidst the wildfire haze. It was 90 and hazy, but the humidity was not high, most of the haze was smoke from out West. I swear it frightens me.
It was haying time. Dairy cows were all in pastures. I have to say going for the ride really helps me feel free.
I love the smell and the farm machinery. Yeah, like I said, thanks, Patrick.
