Day 217
August 5, 2021
A day of adulthood.

It was hard to be at the rookery this morning because they were mowing in the neighborhood.  There were too many human noises and big machinery and no birds  I had one goldfinch fly by.  It was cloudy and cool and not even the ducks liked the noise.
The horses were in the field to the west and the cows to the east. Again the skies were grey and the light was poor, but the green was lush.
I was treated to a sweet dinner at Hope and Olive and felt like an adult.  It just doesn't happen that often anymore.  But I saw old friends and was touched.  I rarely get touched these days.  That felt nice

And then we watched the sunset at Poets Seat.  It was kind of an odd sunset and there were a couple of red tails screeching at each other throughout.  I think they may have been juveniles trying to figure it out.

So not a very picture day, but a good friend day.  Also the mosquitoes are too much for me at dusk so I have to come home.  I've been reading some good books this week, though and trying to get my head on straight.
