Day 222
August 10, 2021
My first real ride this week

Not a lot of birds in the rookery, but some: waxwings, kingfisher and something else in there I can't identify.

It was 82 and sticky and the air quality was poor, but I needed to be out and about.  I saw baby goldfinch in the road, they are so sweet and there were some swallows.

There were a lot of new flowers and the meadows all looked full.  My photos are not good because the air was so thick the colors muted.  Everything was a yellow green.

There were hawks around, lots of hawk noises.

This is looking back at the towers that stand over the rookery. That patch of yellow looked like an airplane had landed on top of the hill, maybe a blimp.  I had to take the picture to actually see what it was.

There are 4 hours between times when these shots were taken.  Around 7:45 I went out for a ride down past the orchards and pumpkin fields.  By the time I got back to the cemeteries everything was grey again.

I needed to detox or something today, not physically, but emotionally.  I felt too full and had a mushy brain and no energy.  Perfect day for a real ride.

And the Deerield, which I haven't photographed in a while looked like the beginning of the end of summer.
