Day 226
August 14, 2021
Make your own postcard in the common day
This is why I love my town. I love these events that bring people out together on a summer's day to share in their harvest or their art or their passions. Today's Farmers Market was no different.
At the Lava Center tent we made postcards. A few adults participated: many more children and one or two young adults. It's fascinating to watch how different people respond to a task. I wish I had videoed the table.
By the time I got to the rookery today it was almost 6 and it was 82. It was clear and sunny and I realized I had not written in my journal in three days because the heat was so oppressive. It did reach 88 earlier and I got very over heated, but by 6 I could sit for a bit and write.
The heron in the pasture was gone, there were no horses out. The cows looked happier, but still this mother looked as though she were weeping. I sat and talked to her a little. Her calf responded to me, but she did not. She's sad.
All that texture, all that color, all that emotion all in one day.
