Not ready for a hurricane

Went to Highland for a little bit today.  Spent most of the day feeling off so I stayed at home most of it.  Tried to work, but I really can't always complete thoughts and I don't get enough work done. 

The humidity was so high you could almost see the water in the air.  It's been so tropical and the bugs have risen to too high a population.

This heron stayed absolutely still for most of my lunch.  He can't possibly see the fish or frogs under that algae.

And there were turtles today on turtle log, which is sinking down under the algae.  But I counted seven while I was there.

The goat herd was near the barn tonight.  It was so dreary looking.  I don't usually find this space dreary, but tonight I was not picked up by being there at all.  It was so still and too quiet.  I miss my herons.

I took a short ride and the sun tried to do something at the end, but it was too late for any color.  

Fall is coming.  I will be happy when it is here.  I haven't gone swimming once this summer.  That's the first summer in 40 years probably.  I have to get back in the water.  I really do.
