Day 239
August 27, 2021
A day to regroup
I went up to the rookery at noontime again today. I wanted to get up earlier, but I got some other things completed first. It was 88 degrees and 74% humidity. Some clouds, but basically sunny and muggy and mosquitoey. I started writing about how long it'd been since I'd seen a big bird up there and an adolescent blue heron flew right by me, 7 feet away. He landed in the grasses in front. I got out of the car to find him, but I didn't see him until he lifted off and flew across the pond. Nice to see him, though.
Fall is knocking on the door.
About 4 o'clock huge storm clouds arrived. The music at Green River Festival was due to start then, and the skies opened up and there was a deluge.
I did go searching for the rainbow, but I didn't want to enter into the festival traffic so I didn't wonder.
My sweet house after the rain.
