Day 265
September 22, 2021
Fascinating day of light

Beautiful view at Mesa for lunch today.  These monarchs danced throughout.  It's fascinating how much synchronization happens in their movements.   This garden was designed to be a pollinator garden, guess it worked and it is still blooming.  Alongside these flowers were tomatoes and small red peppers.

It was quiet at the rookery tonight.  74 degrees and very humid and still.

There was a lot of livestock out.  The herd was headed into the forest.  They have several miles that they roam. There are different feeding troughs and salt licks all along the pastures.
This youngen was giving me the eye, but he held still to be my model.  He does not look like he trusts me, though.

2 vultures were snacking on a dead squirrel when I came by.  Not only are they big birds, but their feathers are beautiful

I saw many sparrows, many grackles, an eagle, 2 turkey vulture and some cedar waxwing.
