Day 282
October 9, 2021
Wood ducks and geese
Today was a grey and cloudy day and an almost perfect temperature. We had really good programming at work today. And I think we may have learned some stuff about programming, too. Our head count was 56 and I would not be surprised if I missed one or two.
Around 5 or later I went up to the rookery. It was so grey I thought for sure it would rain, but it didn't. The pond was full of Canada geese and wood ducks. I saw a cormorant and there were 3 other ducks which I cannot identify, they must be an adolescent that doesn't give me enough markings yet. I brought out the 500 for the first time in over a month and tried to capture the wood ducks.
I did drive up and around the hillside and the cattle were on the west side of their territory. I saw a few bluebirds here, too. The colors were muted but extraordinary.
The horses were out, too, all three in this pasture, which has been rare this year.
