Happy Halloween

Went for a very long ride today.

The ride between Greenfield, Ma. and Annandale, NY is stunning.  I have done it several times now and each time it blows me away.  Today the skies were dramatic and full of lore.  I saw eagle, vultures, a couple hawks, a large male red tail, a group of deer,  and who knows what else.  

Nice to be with friends, too, but driving does not precipitate good picture taking.  Thus, all of those gorgeous and intricate sites, all of that texture and color, all of that light, did not get documented.

When I got home the sun was setting.  The night the veil is the thinnest was getting dark, so I ran to the graveyard and watched a dragon run past me.

Leaves are almost gone and the trees are black arms standing on their own.

Soon November pink will arrive and the winds will blow cold.  We're entering close to the other side.
