Day 319
November 15, 2021
Happy Birthday Pam Mathewson.

Today was the first day I did a COVID ride in a long time. I visited many old haunts.

To  my right is a storm cloud

straight ahead a patch of blue

Rain spits and a soft wind

pushes dead reeds up and down.

A spot of apricot, a splash of red wine

a blob of cherry red and a dab of  fire.

I saw no big birds today and none of my horse friends.  But at the end of my ride, just before the sunset there were five white tails grazing in the grass fields.  The colors all around were filtered through an amber and a mauve.  I needed to be a painter today.  I really should take that class.

I was going to tell stories today.  I wrote a couple in my journal that were prompted by wanting to know the winter habits of the otters.  Where do otters winter in the Northeast?  Does anyone know?
