Day 313
November 9, 2021
Sparkling

Finally got a day for myself.  Went to the rookery at 9 a.m.  First time I've been up in 5 days.  It was sunny and a little chilly and just plain quiet.  About 10 minutes into my writing I thought I spotted a few geese coming in from around the trees.  Got out my big lens, and it was the otters returning on their voyage back to where ever they winter.

I was so excited.  Very fun to watch them.

The sun was so bright and because it was still low and directly across from me it made really interesting light and it glittered.  There were a lot of spider webs all over the cattails in the front.  Light was bouncing off of them.  I wasn't sure if fairies had arrived, too.

Fall is in it's last month, too.  Blotches of bright orange and red appear all of the hillsides.  I am enthralled by the patches of bright colors that pop out of the maroon and brown and evergreen.  All of a sudden an apple red blasts in front.

These sparrows will winter here in the parking lot of Mesa.  Today there were still many bees down in the asters.  They were the only blooms.  The tomatoes are still around, too.
Went into Lava to check on the show.  This is Billie's piece.  I think I will take some pics with a flash on Thursday night.  I really am impressed with it.  We did good.
