Day 362
December 28, 2021
Happy 50th Paul and Molly

You were not as full of folly
as the rest of us seemed to be.
Piling onto mattresses and sleeping
in heaps.  You were no longer
a puppy.

   You were more serious
    you were more able.

Not all elbows and knees , keeping
warm in lumps on the floor.
One by one we grew too old
to jump in leaves and heaps
with blankets and toys.

    You were studious
I looked up to you in awe.

You could sing on stage
play 4 hand piano with Dad
Speak in several languages
Follow along with an opera score

    I could play with anyone
    I could search for anything.

I could joke and tease
go with the boys
or stay home with the girls and dolls
But you could wow them, Inspire.

Again, its not finished, it needs a final stanza.  that is burned at the edges.

50 years, unbelievable.  I have an entire year in front of me of 50th anniversaries that mark the worst year of my life.  1972 collapsed my life as I had known it.  It was the year of loss for me.
50 years ago today the Whiton family was very happy, we all loved Molly and their wedding was a mark of good things to come.  It was a real celebration.

I believe we should take the energy that is caused by this year long anniversary and get my Father's operas heard and seen.  Anyone want to join me?
