Back at work

Got up to go to Lava this morning.  What a world?  Here's this sun trying to break through and this red tailed that was just gorgeous.  

After a few hours of meetings I went over to the canal to see the birds.  I looked for some mergansers, there were no real small ducks around, plenty of mallards and teals, and 24 swan.

And here maybe the reason for the absence of small ducks.   I think this is a pair of blacked back gulls.  They eat small ducks.  Their heads are white, terns have black on their heads.  Anyone else have a suggestion?

I really appreciate this stretch of water.  Its big enough to attract interesting birds and behaviour, but small enough for you to see most everything and I just like parking and looking.   

Had our first meeting of the play script team for my birthmothers play.  I loved it.  It is wonderful to have people to work with on this topic that is so very important to bring to the forefront and so very personal to me.  This is a wonderful journey to climb aboard.  Thanks Gang. I need to get a crystal that protects my heart somewhat, but helps me be present, too.
