Day 18

SUN

Truths for today:

I miss hot chocolate

I want my own pool and spa

I had a crush on Harry Anderson

I am grateful for my life.

I actually got a ride in this afternoon.  I went to the rookery where it was 27 degrees and the snow on top of the ice carried no paw prints or foot prints at all.  It was almost pristine.  The sun goes behind the western hill before 3 so it is already covered by a huge shadow.  In spite of some blue sky, it was pretty desolate up there.

I drove around the loop, saw 2 deer, but no big birds on the mountainside.  Earlier I saw the biggest red tailed I've ever seen over GCC parking lot.  I followed a hawk for a good 5 miles down to the swimming hole.  The hawk are back.
And in the graveyard I saw 2 more at dusk while sitting in my car being embraced by a purple haze that didn't feel real at all.

I was waiting for the moon to rise, but I got impatient once the sun set.  It was cold.  I'm sure she is up now, but not big enough for me to photograph at home.

I wrote a lot of poetry in 2021.  I'm going back and looking at it in hopes that I have a chapbook.  There is still my manuscript,  There is the Words from the Rookery Project, and I believe a 2021 chapbook.  Oh yeah, I'm also putting together a play.  It is so hard for me to stay focused.
