Today I received photos from other people.  I got pictures and poems from people today.  And as I started to try to clean my desk I found treasures of things that have been mailed to me in the past months.  My life is surrounded by wonderful creativity and I love it when people share with me.

I took a short ride today and hung at the rookery where it felt like home or an anchor or someplace I wanted to be.  I wanted to get up enough energy to go visiting, but I didn't have it in me.  But here I was in my place.

Water is slate blue

waiting in rest to freeze

Dead cattails sway

almost copper in wet coats,

the only movement, a light breeze

still like statues, stopped.

7 heron nests wait out winter

offer higher ground

for the perching hawks

to scout ahead

At 1:30 it was 41 and 98% humidity, cloudy and foggy.

Made some dinner.  Wrote some poems.  Heard from friends.  Cried.
