Day 9
January 9, 2022
Happy Birthday, Chris.  You're right, we still have a year before we are 70.

Woke up this morning and had no idea what day of the week it was.  I couldn't figure out whether the pool was shut because I couldn't figure out if it was raining or icing, so I went back to sleep.  I woke up much clearer about my place in the world and came to terms with the fact that I was iced in for the day.

I got a lot of work done.  I'm not sure how to explain what it is like for me to hear these interviews again and again.  I have to create a thin armour so I can hear the powerful words.  I need to be able to know where the chorus lines are.  All of the light bulbs going off when a woman realizes she lived in shock for at least 2 years if not for 12, that her survival responses had taken over and she was not in touch with herself.  And when that light bulbs comes on, shock comes back in a different form, a highly aware form. Sometimes a woman goes in and out of that stage depending on how well she is supported or can fall apart and heal.
In the safety and warmth of my home I sit here and scratch at that tender scar.  I believe it is worth doing.  I believe it is important for people to hear their voices.  I am excited to get to the place where my team can talk about the script.  There is some strong material.  I feel my commitment button has been locked in place; here we go.
So no ride today, no birds, no animals just icy cold stuff. Tomorrow I hope I can get my car going, buy some food, get to the Y and work some more on the play. I'll also take  a ride up to the rookery.

Weather was obviously very different a year ago today.  I think it was cold though.  The high for this Tuesday is 7.  Starting next week I'm going to be working with another writing group on line with participants from all over the place.  I'm glad, I think doing the prompts with 2 Sylvias in December helped me write more and I have things I have to write this month.  Also it is fascinating to read the other writers bios and their work.  I'm enjoying that part already and I am taking in information about publishing, too.
