Day 32
February 1, 2022
The Year of the Tiger

My eyes were dilated at the eye doctor's today.  I was amazed at what I could see and what I couldn't.  I saw this man in the tree, looking straight at me, his mouth gaping open in surprise of my visit. But I did not see the bluebird in the tree.

Another day and not another dollar, but some stuff even more important.  Went to the eye doctors, got some lunch, real lunch not just stuff from the back of the fridge, did the puzzles and then took a short ride to the orchard, past the Deerfield and into Cavalry Cemetery.

The lens of the camera was kind of equivalent to my eyes, too much light coming through, blocking color and sharpness.

My eyes dilated blinded to color
super aware of
    light
of blue, sky blue
the edge, where the limbs
stop and sky begins.

White snow
    bright
gravestones grow out of
clean white floor
shadows cut forms
stark lines
etches
long and vast
even when cramped, narrow.

Perception confused by
    light
encroaching on objects
Nuthatches and downy
are spotted by movement
Bluebird sits alone
a grey silhouette

The continuation of paying it forward, Margie and Nate grabbed the Honda to use the engine and other parts for a car for a member of the next generation's child.
It was cold enough, but not frigid so they managed to get it on a dolly.  Bye bye car, I loved you the most, I think even more than my grey Accord.  There was something adult about the silver Civic.

All of the cars were silver today.

Enjoy your new car, Cheyenne, makes me happy you are getting to make use of my friend.
