My favorite birds

It was a big day today.  After I went to talk to the bank I went down to the canal because I thought the sun would break through.  It didn't, but I like this light.  

There were many swans there today.  I'm not sure all 30 of them were there, but many were and they were in small groups.  This appeared to be a sweet family.  

How do you tell the difference between a male and a female?

And there were a few male common merganser.  I really do love these guys, they are friendly and fun.  

 Working hard on the play.  It's coming together.  I'm conscious of places beginning to glue together in sort of an honest way.  Decided to keep the political agenda out if it entirely today and let it speak for itself.
