Day 38

February 4 - 7, 2022

I was being protected from hackers

all is well and I am back on.

I'm not sure I have a story to tell tonight.  I haven't been able to open my blog in four days because I tried to change my password for Google one too many times on Friday.  They finally let me back in today.  Part of me is pleased that they protected my data from potential threats.  But the other part of me could not access my e mail, blog, play, or any Google Drive document.  That is very frustrating.  Alas, I am back.  But today has been a very Mercury in Retrograde kind of day. At the end of it, everything is fine.  So onward and upward.  I will post a few pics from the last few days and end with something about today.  Tomorrow I will resume my narrative.

This weekend was Winter Carnival in Greenfield.  It was also the launching of our ECHOgreenfield website.  We are very excited by it.  A group of people did gather and the team presented www.echogreenfield.org.

I was able to photograph some of the ice sculptures and some of the activity happening on the Common.  People had a good time in spite of the frigid temperatures.  At least it was sunny.

On Sunday, because I did not have access to any of my work I got to just go out and drive and photograph and be a bird watcher.  I saw many birds yesterday.  Look how puffed these robins were.  I saw goldfinch, sparrows, blue birds, mockingbirds, jays, ohhh I did not see a cardinal.  I saw a downy and a nut hatcher, and grackles, a hawk, crows, and something small I could not identify in the cemetery.

Over the years I have photographed these apple trees a lot.  Recently they were pruned way back.  I felt it shocking.  All of their twisted limbs, ancient twisted arms were lying on the ground.  Now I'm aware this is good for these trees, but it felt so sad.

Everything was iced above a certain altitude.
And dinner with my sweet friend.
And then today, my strange Mercury Retrograde day, was back to being bleak.  Even the snow looked bleak.  My sister and brother in law pulled the Honda out towards Georgia first thing this morning. Then, for me, at every turn there was a glitch, but everything came out right in the end.  I hope Marg and Nate's trip is smooth though. They are about half way home I would suspect.  God speed.
