Day 86
March 27, 2022
I am wiped out.
I'm not sure how to articulate the feelings I had today brought on by the productions yesterday. I was spent and mind body separated and wanting oatmeal raisin cookies by the dozen. I needed to be alone and to surround myself in my safe friends and be on the couch, but go take pictures. So I did it all.
Yesterday was magical and cathartic and just the beginning. I can't wait to see where it takes us. I've been thinking about how to weave Fritz's and my story into the mix, and there are 2 others from the interviews that add another flavor to the stew. These stories are compelling and they hold together.
There are 6 herons taking up 4 nests so more are on their way.
Love was all over the rookery. I saw 2 pair of wood ducks and several common mergansers. There were a lot of hawks flying around. 5 vultures were over the Cove, and my friend saw 9 bald eagles on his canoe trip on the Connecticut.
There were maybe 30 swans in the cove with these guys.
And then the almighty crow who I had to photograph in honor of Annie.
