Day 89
March 30, 2022
Rookery was Duckville today.

Eagle's nest on Stillwater

Went to the rookery around 5:30.  It was about 45, one would not say warm, but certainly warmer than 22.  There were many ducks, many types of ducks: common merganser, hooded merganser, wood ducks, mallards, black ducks, and the brown one I am trying to identify.  There were Canada geese, red winged black birds, eastern phoebe and I believe 7 heron.

Nests 3, 6 and 7 were being occupied The 7th bird showed up at the end, was near me by the road and I believe a young female.

Not sure what the phoebe was to, but he was very active.

They flew in and out of the nests the entire hour I was there today.  I think they are fortifying them. Nest #7 may have a female sitting in it.

I have several photos from France today but I will wait until tomorrow to post more Travels with Pauly.  They went to a castle today.  I'd be jealous except my own life is so full at the moment it is hard to feel envy.
