Day 90

Beautiful time with goats
photos by Paul
There were 7 heron in the nests, 3 nests look like they are pretty well established and a fourth was being played with. A bird from nest 6 was going over to 2 and I think getting sticks to fortify his nest.
The ducks are really present and clearly mating. A muskrat swam across the pond in the stillness. You can tell its a muskrat and not the otter because the otter dives down and comes back up and the muskrat b lines it to the other side.
The water was still today. I actually was a little worried that there was a milky substance in it. Can't imagine what would make a milky residue.
Goats were all out close to the road today. They do look pregnant. They don't usually birth until early June, but I'm not sure how long gustation is.
Drove up above the wetland today, behind the rookery. It was gorgeous today in the fog. Saw one small hawk.
