Day 91
April 1, 2022
April is upon us

So much of life is discovering
the places you can wrap yourself
up with, where you
can pull the edges up above
your shoulders, secure
the loose ends.

So much of life is pushing
back on the wall, making it
open just a little bit further.
Feel the pleasure, but don’t
shove or yank, it’s all so
easily turned to pain.

So much of life is caressing
the frightened, smoothing out
the wrinkles, allowing for calm,
making room for quiet.

So much of  my life
is sculpting, resetting, adding
 extra embroidered stitches
allowing for interpretation,
quilting the pieces firmly together.
Letting go of what’s not needed,
gratefully accepting what is there.

Such a beautiful late afternoon at the rookery.  I think the count rose to 10, and at least 5 nests are being processed for their Spring work.

I did write a poem about ducks, but I'll post another time.  Tonight I am trying not to get anxious about tomorrow.  The last 2 Lava productions of Every Moment of Every Day will happen and I'm afraid of endings.  It's so ironic.

Chickens were out on the farm, no goats visible, I'm sure they were nearby.  I rarely see the chickens though.  This rooster is very handsome.

The preoccupation of mine, going up to the rookery and photographing birds, really works for me.
I'm going to try and get headshots tomorrow of the cast.  We'll see if they will let me.
