Day 157
June 6, 2022
got a little sun burnt for the first time in years

Emily brought us a garden picnic to Edite's garden.  It's the first week in June on a beautiful 80 degree day.  We ate a lovely lunch and talked about everything for the first time in over 2 years.  We really caught up and heard about each others' projects.  It was lovely, kind of made me depressed. I miss gatherings where we share our lives.  Not that I don't have people to do that with, but there is something wonderful about luncheon in the garden with your smart, talented beautiful friends.

The garden is so green at the moment and the fruit in all of the trees is multiplying.  There are 2 fig trees now and the pear tree is taller than the house.

Afterwards I went up to the rookery and the kingfishers were very lively across the pond.  Everyone else was lazy.  There wasn't even heron chatter today, just red winged black bird noises.

Haying has begun.  My allergies are horrible, but I do love
 the smell.

Now I need my book and bed and some good sleep.  The weather is certainly good sleeping weather.
