Day 200

July 19, 2022

Last year it had rained in July so much that we had phenomenal fields of mushrooms of all kinds.  This year we are dry.  Dry, beautiful but in need of rain.

Once again, a backward day is presented.  Tonight was 3rd Tuesday and we had a great turn out.  Really interesting night of poetry, a lot of new work from people.

I also was visited by Donnie, who is a happy successful story at the moment; it made me so pleased.  We sat and talked on the porch.  We caught up and made plans.

Before he came and it got too hot, I ran up to the rookery. It was already in the 80s at 10 a.m., but it was very pretty.  There were large dragonflies, the first I've seen this season.  It is the beginning of the mystical beings appearing in the hot humid weather.

Ducks, kingfisher, and 2 other birds I did not identify were hovering in the background.  High in the trees there could have been a cedar waxwing, but he looked too big.

Headed into a week of a heatwave, not looking forward to it, but will try to stay quiet and calm.  Today reached 91.  Tomorrow is supposed to inch up close to 100.  I may have to seek out water.  I may have to just stay in my room.  Oh well, at least I am housed.  I feel pretty grateful these days.  Life is good.
